Groomsmen Gifts – How to Choose the Right Ones

You’ve done the hard part. You decided she’s the one for you. You bought the ring. You asked her father for permission. Most importantly, you asked her to marry you and she said yes. You’ve taken care of most of the little details like the place cards and the flowers and most of the big details like the wedding hall and the honeymoon.

Just when you thought you’re planning was done you realize – I forgot the groomsmen gifts! Well, don’t panic, its not too late. With a little creativity and some thought about your particular groomsmen, you’ll have this final task crossed off your to do list in no time.

If cost is an issue, then this is the first thing you need to consider. You can easily find discount prices online no matter what type of item you’re looking for. A nice engraved money clip or Zippo Lighter can be found fairly inexpensively online and with a little extra research, you can usually find a company that will ship these personalized items at no charge. The important thing to remember here is that when shopping online, all of your resources are just a click away. If the prices on the website you’re on are too high, just hit the back button and move on to the next company.

The next thing to consider is the occupation of all the members of your wedding party. For the high rolling executive, how about a personalized business card holder - perfect to hold his business cards while meeting new clients. Maybe a Swiss Army Tool for the mechanic or a travel alarm for your groomsmen that’s always away on business. A personalized gift that your groomsmen will get to use everyday will always be a reminder of your wedding day!

Maybe one or more of your groomsmen are still not set one a career or work in a field that doesn’t lend itself to gift buying. What are their hobbies? Are they into sports? How about a personalized NFL liquor flask? Got a big beer drinker in your wedding party? A personalized mug may be the perfect gift. A hobbyist is often the easiest groomsman to shop for because collectibles can so often be personalized.

Finally, how about a gift for your groomsmen that they can use on your big day? A pair of personalized cufflinks is a great gift for your men to wear on your big day and something they can still use in the future. You can engrave a pair of initials on a pair of silver plated cufflinks fairly inexpensively or you can splurge and get your men a sterling silver pair!

The important thing to remember is that your wedding party will appreciate the thought more than the gift itself. We all know that a wedding is a financial stretch and no one is expecting something dramatically expensive. If you show your groomsmen that you cared enough to plan ahead and personalize their gifts, they will appreciate the gesture forever.

Second Wedding? Yes, You Can – Tips for the Encore Bride

Are you getting remarried? If you are planning your second wedding celebration then read this article by Jean Neuhart a Professional Bridal Consultant, and the owner of Weddings From The Heart.

Yes, You Can – Tips for the Encore Bride

If you are like many brides, this may not be your first wedding. So you’re probably wondering "what am I allowed to have at my wedding?" Guess what? There’s good news. You can have your wedding any way you want! This day is for you and your fiancé and the celebration of the love you have for each other. Don’t let anything in the past put a damper on the excitement of this new and wonderful relationship you share, or get in the way of having the celebration you really want.

With the minor exception of two things - a veil and orange blossoms, which both symbolize virginity - there is nothing you should avoid having at your wedding. Yes, you can wear white - it is the color of celebration. Your bridal party can be as large or as small as you want. You can register for gifts. If your attendants or someone else wants to throw a bridal shower for you, let them. You can also have a bachelorette party.

Think about your previous wedding for a moment, and consider the following:
1. Do you want to do everything in a new way?
2. Did you feel overwhelmed by the size of your last ceremony?
3. Did the style of your first wedding reflect your tastes, regardless of its outcome?
4. Do you want to find a special role for your children?
5. Are you still close to your in-laws, ex-spouse?
6. Would you feel more comfortable with a civil ceremony?

Honestly answering these questions can help guide you in your wedding planning.

Don’t concern yourself with any party-poopers who are wondering why in the world you’re planning a wedding anyway. The love and commitment you and your fiancé have for each other deserves celebrating. Why not shout it from the roof tops with a dream wedding? And if they don’t get it, then that’s their problem, not yours.

Most of all, celebrate your love and have fun.
