So you’ve found the perfect dress, and now you want a veil. But with all the names for colors out there, it can be confusing and hard to choose the right color to match your gown. Never fear! Here are some guidelines.
Choose White If...
If your designer calls your gown “white” AND the gown is NOT made from real silk. Only choose a white bridal illusion veil if your gown meets both of these conditions.
Choose Diamond White If…
If your gown is not made out of silk, but is called “diamond white,” “pearl,” “candelight,” “silk white,” or “winter white” by your designer, a diamond white veil is the correct choice for you.
If your dress is made of genuine silk and is called “white,” or any of the other names in the paragraph above, a diamond white veil is the right color veil for you. It’s confusing, I know! But real silk, as a natural material, doesn’t come in a true white. Instead, it’s a slightly warmer natural color. A white bridal illusion veil will not match your dress if you have a real silk dress.
Choose Ivory If…
If your gown is made from any material, and your designer calls the color of the dress “Ivory.” Even if the dress is a very very pale ivory, and you think it looks white unless you hold it up to a white piece of paper, don’t choose diamond white! The diamond white will be too light, and not warm enough in tone! Don’t worry, ivory bridal illusion is a very light ivory.
Of course, the best way to make sure you get the perfect match is to request tulle samples and compare the colors in person.
