The
Christopher Hotel, St. Barts newest major
hotel, opened in 1993 on the island's
northeastern edge in a neighborhood of
fancy villas.
On secluded Point Milou, this cozy four
star hotel has 40 oceanview rooms with
terraces decorated in neo-colonial style
and local woods. There’s a large
oceanfront pool with a terra cotta sundeck
and fitness center. The poolside L’Orchidee
restaurant offers French cuisine with
subtle island flavors. We place at your
disposal spacious comfortable bedrooms,
overlooking the ocean, and equipped to
the level of your desire. |

Le
Mango, a poolside daytime restaurant,
specializes in barbecues. In the evening,
more formal French and Creole meals are
served at L'Orchidée. There's a
barbecue every Thursday. |

Most
of the hotel's activities center around
a lovely, and huge, swimming pool near
the rocky coastline that surrounds the
property. The swimming pool, a 4,500-square-foot
pair of interconnected ovals with a bridge,
is the largest on the island. It also
has an expansive deck for lounging and
sunbathing.
In addition to the pool, recreation centers
around a nearby fitness center/health
club where you can work out on all the
usual machines and equipment, as well
as treat yourself to a massage and, if
you must, get nutritional counseling.
One complimentary massage is included
in the cost of a stay. |

The
41 air-conditioned rooms come with ocean
views. Twenty-one rooms are at ground level,
each with a sitting room on a large private
terrace, large bathroom and shower and tub
and separate toilet. Nineteen rooms are
on the second floor, each with sitting areas,
large private balconies and bathrooms with
a small garden. All rooms have ceiling fans,
hair-dryers, bathrobes and Nina Ricci bath
products. |
