Following his graduation from Plymouth State College (Plymouth, NH) in 1998, DePiano was awarded with a scholarship to perform and study abroad with the SESSIONE SENESE PER LA MUSCIA (SSMA) touring group. Based in Siena, Italy, the SSMA toured through Italy and Switzerland performing in cities such as Siena, Andermatt, Lucerna, and Pienza. DePiano was routinely featured playing solos, duets and in small chamber ensembles.
After moving to Los Angeles in 1999, DePiano continued to perform throughout the United States as a soloist and with the rock band Mother Jones (www.motherjonesband.com).
In 2004 DePiano was a guest performer with the Danza Floricanto, during their 25th anniversary program at California State University in Los Angeles. During the event which was performed at the Harriet & Charles Luckman Fine Arts Complex, he played in the world premier piece Los Concheros, composed by Gerardo Tamez.
Since departing from Los Angeles in 2005 to complete a Masters Degree in Education, DePiano has relocated to Cleveland, Ohio. Today he continues to perform and teach throughout the Cleveland metro area.

Tony DePiano holds a BA in Music Performance and a Master’s Degree in Education. He has been teaching guitar to students of all ages for the past 12 years. From studying the sweet sound of Andre Segoviaís classical guitar to mastering the classic rock riffs of Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix and Duane Allman or if you would just like to learn the basics of acoustic guitar playing for fun, lessons focus on the direction of each students personal interests.
If you are interested in private lessons, the rates are as follow: $
$35 per hour
$20 per half hour
At the first lesson of every month, instructor and student determine how many lessons will be scheduled for the month. Based on the number of lessons scheduled, the student will pay the instructor for month in full. If for any reason, there is a cancellation, the student must notify the instructor at least 24 hours prior to absence for a make up to be considered.
Tony is also available for events such as weddings, receptions, art gallery openings etc. You may contact Tony regarding rates and availability. In general, the rates for these events are as follows:
Wedding Ceremony (including-Prelude, Processional, Candle Lighting, Recessional, Postlude): $250 ($100 hr for each additional hour)
Background music rates such as cocktail hour/ restaurants/ public performances:
$150 for first hour
$100 for each additional hour
Events outside of Los Angeles County : $25 per hour for driving time
