There
is one thing that has come up over and over again during
these planning sessions and that is why I have created
12 Songs for the Groom and his Mom and offer
it to you here. I can't tell you how many times I have
heard that the groom can't find any song he feels comfortable
with for dancing with his Mom. True, there are a couple
of songs written for this purpose but it has been my
experience that most people would rather not use those
songs even when I recommended them.
The
parent dance is a really special moment at the reception
and it is really full of emotion. One of the most enjoyable
things for me is to share in the love and joy expressed
by the Brides and Grooms for their Dads and Moms and
visa versa. This is a moment that happens only once
in a lifetime and it seems to symbolize the permanent
change that has taken place with the Marriage. This
moment is the culmination of a lifetime of caring and
nurturing and finally letting go. It's no wonder that
the music playing is an important decision that needs
to be made. In my experience, the Bride usually knows
what she wants to use for the Bride/Dad dance but the
Groom, on the other hand, usually does not.
I
remember the day I got married and the feelings of thankfulness
I had for my Mom and all she had done to help me get
to where I was. It's easy to recall the look of pride
and happiness on her face. I'll never forget it! These
are feelings and ideas that are represented in various
songs as well as thoughts that came up during the planning
sessions I've participated in. I remember one fellow
who couldn't find anything anywhere that would adequately
address his feelings of friendship towards his Mom.
The Best of Friends was written towards that
end. This song by the way can easily be used by the
Bride for her dance as it only addresses the beauty
and strength of true friendship. It can be dedicated
to anyone from anyone and is a really nice duet.
It
is my very real hope that you will find one of these
songs on 12 Songs for the Groom and his Mom to
be just right for your Mother/Son dance and am hoping
that you will enjoy using it. Regardless of your choice,
I wish you the absolutely best day possible.

BRIDE
ON WEDDING DAY
Wedding
Songs for the Bride on Her Wedding Day is here and available
for your Special Day! There's more here however, than
just Father/Daughter dances. There are seven different
songs on this CD that are appropriate for the Bride/Dad
dance. Some of them are from the point of view of the
Daughter to her Dad like Daddy, That's My Dad, The First
Man That I Loved and I've Always Had You to Rely On,
while a couple are from the Dad directed toward the
Bride, like Angel to Me and Everything Changed. There
is even one duet, You Were Always There where each gets
to share their feelings in the same song.
Your
Wedding Day! Wow! What could be better than finding
the person you really Love and committing to them with
everything you are. This is why I've included two songs
which are Special Dedications from the Bride to the
Groom. The first song on the CD is So Wonderful and
speaks to the real reason why two people join together
in the first place. The second Bride dedication to the
Groom is a slightly upbeat tune called That's What You
Mean to Me and it is a lighthearted, fun little song.
There are also two songs which are Special Dedications
from the Groom to the Bride. The first is Glass Slippers
and I 'll be the first to admit that I was inspired
by the cartoon, but isn't it everyman's dream to find
that "Perfect Someone" no matter what it takes?
The second Groom to Bride dedication is called All of
My Dreams. This is what he has found in you, and in
this song, he tells you so.
The
final tune on the CD is called Cut da Ting. Isn't about
time for a new cake cutting song? That Farmer in the
Dell has GOT TO GO! Straight from the Beautiful Island
of Jamaica comes this really fun, cute cake cutting
song. Just listen once. You'll be back for more. Cake,
that is. The product is completely professional in every
way, with vocals by Lynn Lockamy, Penny Mealing, Omar
Conry and TJ Loughran. Guest artists Peter "Rosedale"
Belmonte and Carmine DsStefano helped round out the
talent.
So
go ahead, listen to the clips and order the CD. You
may use as many songs as you would like. Wishing you
the best,
TJ Loughran
