PHIL SCISCIONE
LEAD VOCAL AND BAND LEADER OF "THE SOUND INVESTMENT
BAND"
Philip joined The Sound Investment Band
in 1977. At the time it was a hard rock, funk, R&B
and disco club band. As the lead vocalist and soon adopted
as the bandleader to date. During his 22-year history
with the Band even when there have been a few personal
changes the quality of performers have remained first
class. Phil is the driving force of the Band, he is
dedicated to the overall quality performance of the
band. Born in South Philadelphia and received his vocal
training from his father, a tenor and opera singer.
He remembers growing up and watching his father singing
with a best friend, another tenor named Freddie CoCoza
(better known as Mario Lanza). Phil Jr. grew us with
singing with his father and voice became his main instrument
although now he will occasionally play sax, guitar,
piano, harmonica or congas. Phil has performed full
time with the Sound Investment Band in the Philly club
circuit for 12 years and throughout college before converting
the Band into the huge variety dance band that it is
today.
MICHELLE CRAEMER
LEAD VOCALIST AND VOCAL ARRANGER
Singing professionally for 22 years and
with Sound Investment Band for five. Michelle is a happy
successful vocal instructor has recently established
a school of music with her sister Candy. Michelle is
single, has a strong loving family relationship with
two sisters and brother who have also been in the performing
arts through out childhood. Michelle's personality is
sparkling and genuine.
PAUL FORTUNATO COLOMBO
GUITARIST AND VOCALIST
With a Bachelors degree in music from Miami, in Coral Gables Fl. and his Masters music Degree in Jazz Studies from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pa. Paul has been playing guitar for 28 years and is a full time guitar teacher and has been playing in Phil's family for 5 years and a committed member of the Sound Investment Band . His playing experience includes touring with oldies acts and playing at the first Casino that opened in Atlantic City in 1978 (Resorts). He once mentioned that the highlight of his playing career occurred during a stint as a guitarist in the U.S. Navy. He played to a sold out (12,000 people) concert to celebrate the arrival of the first Russian ship to enter Norfolk Va. harbor in 100 years. This concert was a joint affair with the Soviet Red Army Band.
Paul is also a contributing consultant to "Just Jazz Magazine", writing articles, reviews and transcribes music. He has also released publications to include feature stories in "Guitar Players Magazine". He is currently on project with a famous jazz guitarists in Philadelphia. Jimmy Bruno, and various CD projects currently with "Sigma Sound" home of the Spinners and the Ojays. When you hear Sound Investment Band play, you can really pick out Paul's versatility. He is a well rounded guitarists/vocalists and enjoys expressing himself during his performance.
STEVE CUTCHER
SAXOPHONE
Playing sax professionally for almost 3 decades, Steve ads such a unique dimension to the Sound Investment Band. Once you have heard him play, you may that he is simply one the greatest Sax players in the Philadelphia area. He is an accomplished jazz musician on soprano, alto and tenor saxophones, and has performed with many musical greats, including: Bobby Vinton, Nat Adderley, Ben Vereen, Bob Hope, Shirley Jones and Neil Sedaka. He has toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Tommy Dorsy Band, as well as several dance bands and jazz ensembles. A graduate of Florida State University, Steve has studied with such notable teachers as Trent
Kynaston.
MICHAEL LA BUONO
KEYBOARDS AND VOCALIST
Michael has been playing the keyboards for 27 years and joined "THE SOUND INVESTMENT BAND" in 1990. His musical education began with piano lessons at the age of 7 and began performing professionally in his early teens. After attending West Chester University to major in music education, his interest led him to seriously study classical music. Like many talented musicians, Mike wanted to expand his knowledge and eventually pursued a cross training in Jazz to study with the famous performer and teacher recognized as "Philly's Organist", Mr. Paul Richardson.
MASSIMO DE ANGELIS
DRUMS AND PERCUSSION
Originally from Rome Italy, Massimo came into U.S.A. in 1987 and joined THE SOUND INVESTMENT BAND" in 1989. He spent his entire adult life playing drums through out Europe and even 4 years on various cruise ships. His father was a renowned jazz drummer in Europe although retired still is enthusiastic to hear his son play. Like his father Massimo has been influenced by American music especially Jazz and R&B. Becoming a United States citizen in 1996, Massimo has come to us as an accomplished musician and serious composer. He has co-produced and performed in 6 CDs and albums. His musical works are eclectic and brings out a delightfully melodious jazz feel as reflected in his CDs. His plays the drums and anything percussive passionately.
NICK FANELLI
BASSIST AND VOCALIST
An exceptional bassist and overall musician, Nick joined the band in 1989, he has been the funk behind our rhythm section. Nick is also an excellent guitarist and drummer. Starting at an early age as a guitar player like his father, Nick's real talent came to light and he became one of the hottest and sought after bass players in Philly by the time he was 26 years old. Like the other Sound Investment Band members, he also played full time in various club bands and studio projects for almost two decades. When Nick auditioned for the band years ago he stood out over 46 bass applicants. He admitted that what attracted him to the audition was the challenge of being able to play an intense variety of styles and rhythms required for the position as a Sound Investment Band musician.
